About the uniqueness of Global Gas Group solution on gasification of Astana was told on air to Russia 24 TV channel

Opening of “Turan” liquefied natural gas regasification complex − the first such station in the territory of Kazakhstan, evolved into a cause celebre among the energy and gas sector specialists, the state apparatus and the public of the Republic of Kazakhstan and, particularly, the Astana city population.

Moreover, implementation of this unique international project formed the main storyline of sectoral teleshow of the largest socio-political TV channel Russia.24 called Energetika (Energy) program. So, in the storyline of March 2, 2017, the experts of Global Gas Group, jointly with the Kazakhstan and Russian channel representatives, revealed technological processes, determining the economic effect from application of LNG technology for heat and energy supply to the capital of Kazakhstan.

In addition, recall that in 2014, the President of Kazakhstan issued resolution seeking gasification of Astana city and northern regions of Kazakhstan. Under this resolution, Global Gas Group Company launched a large-scale ASTANA LNG 2020 project, at the first phase of which, “Turan” liquefied natural gas regasification complex was constructed and commissioned subsequently.

Generally, construction of “Turan” station" was launched about a year ago, and today it already can provide environmental fuel to several large companies of Astana. Together with the partners and with the active participation of the State it is planned to increase productivity through construction of new stations around the city and to gasify the capital of Kazakhstan.

Global Gas Regazification Company experts, performing all construction and commissioning works, are quite ambitious about completion of the whole ASTANA LNG 2020 project and expect to realize it in 4-5 years, while the capital gasification process with the main pipeline, requires literally much more time.

Such tight deadlines are caused not only by the mobility of the product itself and equipment for its conversion (regasification) to commercial gas, but also the size of necessary investments: in order to supply gas to Astana by commonly known method, about 1.5 bln USD is required, while implementation of ASTANA LNG 2020 program requires not more than 200 mln USD.

By 2021, investment will amount to 20 bln tenge that will allow to build five more such stations, and to gasify with liquefied natural gas the entire city and regions of Kazakhstan geographically close to Russia, which are in desperate need in it. In the future, as a result of main pipelines construction, networks newly constructed by GlobalGasNetwork Company will be managed by gas distribution companies (e.g. state), and regasification stations operated with LNG will be leveling up daily irregular consumptions.
