«Gazprom export» LLC and Global Gas Regazification, entering into group of the Global Gas Group companies, has signed the first ever contract for supply of low-tonnage liquefied natural gas (LNG) by motor transport from Russia to Kazakhstan, stated the Russian company.

First export supply of LNG will be made in December 2016. In 2017, more than 5 thousand tons of LNG produced by «Gazprom transgaz Ekaterinburg» LLC will be exported to Kazakhstan in total.

The first facility of the Russian LNG use will be a university in Astana. In the future, it is planned to use this energy carrier for gasification of other facilities of Kazakhstan capital.

«More intense use of natural gas, being the most environmentally friendly fossil energy source, in the big cities is a reasonable trend. Pleased to note that in addition to the existing successful cooperation in the field of pipeline gas trade, we are setting a new milestone in the energy partnership between Russia and Kazakhstan. I'm sure the signed contract will allow us to lay a solid foundation for the further development of cooperation in the field of low-tonnage LNG supply», - said General Director of «Gazprom export»  LLC, Yelena Burmistrova.

In turn, the General Director of Global Gas Group companies’ group, Oleg Goncharov, noted that the integrated program of gasification of Astana and northern regions of Kazakhstan using liquefied natural gas was based on instructions of the President of the State and relevant decisions of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
