Director of Global Gas Regazification presented the gasification project of Akmola oblast

In the negotiation process, the representatives of both parties noted the importance of the public-private partnership (PPP) contract to be signed as the main mechanism of ensuring effective interaction between the state and private initiative in the creation of innovations that require large amount of resources. Fast positive decision-making on the establishment of state-private partnership is an integral part of the gasification project implementation process.

On January 17, 2018, Governor of Akmola oblast, Murzalin Malik Kenesbekovich, met with the representatives of “Global Gas Regazification” LLP represented by the Company Director, Saulidi Panayot G., Chief Engineer, Kasenov Ulas Rysbekovich and Deputy Director, Serdalin Serik Meiramovich. The main issue of the meeting was the program for Akmola oblast gasification within the project of integrated gasification of the Kazakhstan northern regions and Astana city, and also the plan of implementation of environmentally friendly and cheaper gas motor fuel for municipal transport.

Group of Global Gas Group companies relies on a unique technology, ensuring uninterrupted supply of natural gas to the facilities remote from the pipelines. The LNG technology (liquefied natural gas, LNG) allows you to transport natural gas over long distances using the special cryogenic tanks. Gas is accumulated in distribution stations in a liquid state, and then, converted to conventional natural gas (regazification), to supply to end users through the networks.

According to the Akmola oblast gasification project, the company intends to build the gas storage station in Akkol town with 25 thousand cubic meters capacity. Just in this year it is planned to convert to gas fuel five boilers of Shuchinsk town; at that the costs are minimal. The next in 2019 will be Kokshetau. In addition to the regional center, the project allows for a phased gasification of Stepnogorsk, Burabai, Akkol, Zerenda, Bulandy and Shortandy regions. It is planned to build in the region about 800 km of gas distribution networks, which in the future will enable gasification of not only utility facilities, but also industrial enterprises and private sector.

At the meeting with the region governor, Director of “Global Gas Regazification” LLP, P. Saulidi, shared that in 2017 the company launched the first natural gas station in Astana, consumer of which became the largest in the country Nazarbayev University. According to P. Saulidi, in three months of gas consumption, the University has saved about 200 million tenge.

In addition, he informed about the project implemented in Burabai region, on the basis of “Rixos Borovoe” hotel. In the near future it is expected to launch a new gas supply source here. According to preliminary company calculations, the gas heating will allow saving about 64 million tenge per year to the hotel.

The head of “Global Gas Regazification” LLP also talked about the growing use of LNG in the municipal and commercial transport segment: from passenger transport and special vehicles to large commercial vehicles, including the ones operated in extremely low temperature conditions. “Use of gas as fuel will allow enhancing profitability of urban public transport. The net savings on motor transport fuel may go up to 50%, while at the same time, harmful emissions will reduce to 85%", — said P. Saulidi.

As you know, “Global Gas Group” LLP proposed to build gas station in Kokshetau, if the bus fleets purchase the gas-operated vehicles. The first similar bus has already operated in testing mode on the city streets.

“Conversion to gas fuel of public transport and, whenever possible, the utility machinery is important not only in Kokshetau. As the first project stage assumes gasification of Shuchinsk town, now we need to think about possible use of gas for transport in the territory of Shuchinsk-Burabai resort area," - emphasized governor of the oblast.

In turn, governor of the oblast supported the project and expressed interest in cooperation on the issue of the region gasification.

It should be noted that this project is executed within the “green technologies” presented at “EXPO-2017” exhibition.
